What this page covers
Notebook FC (notebookfc.com) is published by NWSL Data. This page describes the site's data practices and how to contact us about your information.
Current public site. The public site offers football results and fixtures, tables, team and player records, published stories, and this privacy page. These pages need no account. Football coverage varies by page; observation dates describe the records available, not a live update guarantee. Games and Fantasy remain unavailable. Authorized writers and editors manage stories in the private WordPress editor.
The current public pages do not load Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Vercel Web Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights, or the site's experiment tools. The disclosures below about those integrations and unavailable features describe retained functionality when enabled; they do not mean it is active on the current public pages. Withholding a feature does not itself delete information from earlier use.
Reading the site
Hosting. The site runs on Vercel. Its servers keep the usual request logs — the address a request came from, the page asked for, the time — for a short period, for security and reliability.
Counting visits, when enabled. Vercel Web Analytics counts visits and pages without cookies or identifiers.
Page performance. When enabled, Vercel Speed Insights helps us measure loading speed, responsiveness, and visual stability on public pages. It sends performance measurements, the public page path and page type, browser and device information, network type, country, and timing information to Vercel. Our integration removes query strings and fragments and excludes private routes and pages marked unavailable. Vercel describes these measurements as anonymous and not used to identify a visitor or reconstruct a browsing session across pages. See Vercel Speed Insights privacy information.
Google Analytics, when enabled. Our integration uses Google Analytics to understand how the site is read. It records which pages are viewed, moves from one page to another, whether a game was started or finished, whether an ad space loaded and whether an ad filled it, and which group your browser was drawn into for a site experiment. It never records your name, your email, a game answer or score, a search, or anything you type. Google Analytics collects and processes this data on our behalf using cookies and similar identifiers; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Consent and experiments, when enabled. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, no measurement or advertising cookie is set until you answer the consent message, and you can decline. When the experiment tools are enabled, one thing is kept from the first visit everywhere: a random identifier in your browser's local storage that decides which group you are in for a site experiment, including whether you are shown ads at all. It never leaves your browser and identifies no one; clearing the site's data removes it. On surfaces where measurement and advertising are enabled, their cookies are on by default everywhere else, and the opt-outs below apply.
Advertising
The current public pages do not show ads. When advertising is enabled on a supported surface, our integration shows ads from Google AdSense in labeled spaces that never sit inside a table, a story, or a game. The following vendor disclosures apply when that integration is enabled.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
When advertising is enabled, we ask Google to serve ads without personalization, and nothing about your account, your Fantasy team, your play, or your searches is used to choose an ad. When the advertising experiment is enabled, some readers are shown no ads at all; which group you are in is decided at random by your browser and kept only there.
Google is the only vendor in this advertising integration. Its practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What your browser keeps
When games are available, they remember your progress in your browser's local storage: today's grid, the trivia tally, a 30-0 season. Your moves are sent to our game service to be checked against the record and are not kept against you. When experiment tools are enabled, your browser also holds a random identifier that decides which group you are in for a site experiment; it never leaves your browser. Stored progress and experiment identifiers from earlier visits may remain while these features are unavailable. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes that local storage. Cookies set by Google when measurement and advertising are enabled are described above, and signing in sets a cookie that keeps you signed in.
If you sign in
The private WordPress editor uses staff accounts and sign-in cookies. We hold the account details and editorial work needed to provide that access. The former Studio and Fantasy used Firebase; their retained account information may include your email address and sign-in identity, and any Fantasy teams, leagues, and lineups you created. Fantasy's public pages are currently unavailable. If you receive a match-day email about your team, reply to stop them. These account disclosures and the contact option below still apply to information from earlier use.
To see what we hold about you, or to delete your account and everything with it, email tom@nwsldata.com from the address on the account.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
California and other U.S. state rights
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and when advertising is enabled we request ads without personalization. You may still use the opt-outs above, and you may email us to ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted.
